» Hotel chain gains speed and security with SBS technology

Solution allowed the integration of all systems, including security. The result has been client satisfaction, which can now rely on customized service.

Bouços e Justo hotel chain, with several ventures in Brazil and Europe, was searching for improvement in the level of information about their guests, as well as for ensuring the perfect communication among their units.

Along with this project, the hotel chain has other challenges in progress: one of them was to improve security in common and external areas of their ventures through the implementation of 32 surveillance cameras monitoring 24 hours a day. The equipment could be logged on with ADSL technology, already included in the network. Another project involved the development of a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software, which would be logged on by the guests via Internet. The purpose was just one: gain efficiency and improve the quality on guest service.

The Solution

In order to serve the specifications and needs of the client, InfoSERVER presented the SBS solution – Windows Small Business Service 2003. According to Anderson Sabino, InfoSERVER’s consultant and in charge of the project implementation, the technology allows the integration and control of the entire network in the hotel. “With SBS we were able to organize all the files, internal and external e-mails, website management, lobby surveillance camera, venture operation via Internet, besides making wireless Internet available to every guest”, he says.

According to Sabino, the greatest challenge in the project was the use of SBS as a security application. “InfoSERVER’s team explored all the features of the tool to its fullest extent”, says Sabino.

The Benefits

SBS solution enabled the client to concentrate all the information in just one server, which is designed to control the entire network, the hotel management software, CRM software, which receives guest information, the e-mail server, and file server. In addition, the technology controls Internet access to the guests, network security, VPM (Virtual Private Network) network, and remote access.

“SBS allows speed and accuracy to access information, even when far from the company. It’s funny how astonished people look at me when I say I’m checking my e-mails through the cell phone, and they don’t even know this is just the tip of the iceberg”, asserts Justo, Partner Director of Rede Bouços e Justos hotel chain, referring to the various systems that can be logged on via cell phone or handheld. “The fact that I can be in so distant places at the same, corroborate the benefit acquired”, emphasizing the possibility to access the ventures remotely. “We so very excited with the technology implemented by InfoSERVER in our local venture, that we have also implemented it in our European unit”, he confirms.
